Podcast

I have been told that I have a face for radio, so I am ready to cash in.

A lover of resistance, grind and sweat, I tend to enjoy listening to the story while people are in it, rather than on the other side. I feel that this is more representative of where most people are in life, in the grind. PURSUING.

I am seeking to share a wide array of stories of individuals that I believe are courageously following their North Star. Brave spirits taking risks and actively PURUSUING their own sliver of the American Dream... whatever that is to them. I am seeking to help elevate these stories, sharing narratives, pivots, character traits and decision making that I find inspiring and intriguing.

As a financial advisor and health coach, I am in the advice business. I give a lot of advice. However, the goal with these ON PURSUING discussions are not to tell anyone how to live, but to share stories of people actively living. A match needs a little resistance to spark light. I am seeking to equally explore success alongside the dark and uncertain times in stories that guests are willing to share, illustrating the importance of those moments in their courageous journey and to assure my listeners, "You are not alone in your pursuit."

I have developed a “pitch deck” for ON PURSING including my wish list of people that I'd like to chat with in my first "season" of discussions. Drop me a note if you’d like to check out some of the other inspiring spirits on my list and provide feedback or ideas if you like!

Coaching

For well over 10 years, I have been competing in endurance races, coaching men and women one on one and in group fitness.  After a decade of endurance racing, being a fit working mom is the hardest thing I have ever done.  I welcome this challenge with grace and humility, every single day.  I have found that one of my greatest joys is to inspire women to embrace their strength and find beauty in sweat.  I spent a lot of time building a brand and business focused on meeting people where they are.  Teaching individuals that we already have the tools to be the healthiest form of ourselves, we just need to put in the work.  I developed plans and workouts focused on simplicity.  Less rules, less boundaries, just get up and going.  Doing something that honors your best self, every damn day.  I am currently doing very little one on one coaching as there is only so much time in the day, but I do continue to find time in my schedule to get in my own sweat sessions and I use social media stories to inspire and encourage others to join me in the hustle.

I touch on my fitness journey a lot in my memoir. Welcoming resistance, endurance and persistence on the road and in the gym is what ultimately made me the woman I am today. You’re not paying attention if you think your workouts are just about the salty sweat in that moment. That hustle is capable of pouring over into everything you do. The heat you’re willing to take on the mat is molding your spirit. Keep showing up and stay in the hustle. I believe in you.

Writing

I am working on three books that will get published in the not too distant future.

Pennies on Cake is a children's book that I am writing and illustrating.  My desire is to begin the discussion early with children about spending, saving and sharing with others.  I will use this book to help my financial planning clients and friends to teach their sweet children about money.  I also plan to spend time reading and teaching within my community in local schools.  Beliefs about money and habits with money begin at such an early age.  Let's begin the conversation early and in a healthy way.

Hustle and Salt is my personal memoir/novel. It has been written, professionally edited and rewritten over the course of five years. It is forever expanding and evolving and has proven to be quite a colossal undertaking. I'm really proud of my work and it's message is important to me. It represents thousands of hours, my own meaningful life experiences and lots of research. One day I will put it out into the world, but not yet. A lot must happen first. For better or worse, I'm also not quite ready for what comes next when I press publish on a book about my life and my perspective on the world.

May We Get You A Coffee? is a book I am co-authoring with business partner, mentor and father, Robert “Bob” Gaskin. It is an educational book to serve our asset management and financial planning clients in a way that is educational and fun to read. Lessons from a father-daughter financial advisory team about money, marriage and business.
